What Is Your Legacy?
What will your legacy be???
I don’t remember my great great grandmother. I vaguely remember the building that was the nursing home she died in.
I barely remember my great grandmother.
I don’t remember either of their husbands. Don’t think I ever met them.
I only met one of my grandfathers.
Unless you are Elon Musk, or Einstein, or George Washington, or in movies, nobody will remember you twenty years after you die either. I have no delusions that anybody in my family tree, younger than my grandkids, will remember me. Unless I live to a hundred and twenty. =)
I do remember my grandfather’s funeral though.
Grandpa died several years ago.
I talked to him almost every day from the time I moved to California, right out of high school, until after he was in a nursing home and no longer knew who I was.
The funeral was at the church and it was packed, not an empty seat in the house. The preacher got up and talked about all the stuff my grandpa had done. He talked about how Grandpa was the first farmer in the county to have a tractor with rubber tires. The first farmer with such and such bottom plow, and on and on about stuff.
