I don’t like titles. I don’t have a degree. From what I’ve seen, having one can be a hindrance. A degree becomes just another label that limits people. Labels are restrictive.

I’m the CEO, I can’t run a machine.

I can’t change a tire, I’m a Doctor.
I can’t install an outlet, I’m a Plumber.
I can’t go sell something, I’m a Farmer.

One of the things that has put humans at the top of the food chain is our adaptability.

We were cold, so we harnessed fire.
We can’t outrun a deer, so we made a bow and arrow.
We can’t see at night, so we made a flashlight.

The list is endless. One obstacle after another, we have overcome it and adapted to it.

A chameleon adapts to its surroundings by changing it’s color. But that doesn’t change what it is at its core. But it almost seems like we humans have started to change at our core. We’ve become less accepting of other people and of change in general.

Human adaptability goes both ways. You can adapt to harsher circumstances and be harder to kill; or you can adapt to the easy way and become soft.

I don't know what I'm talking about, but if you think about it you really don't either. I write about lessons learned through my life. dougheron@outlook.com
