Each of Those Things Made me Stronger. Now, I’m Happy!

We’ve all been through our own trials and tribulations.

I’ve been in jail. Twice.

I’ve been bankrupt.

I’ve gotten divorced.

I’ve had my time with my children, who were my life at that point, ripped away from me by a bitter person and the messed up court system.

I’ve broken bones.

I’ve been so overweight that I couldn’t tie my shoes without holding my breath.

And that’s really nothing. I know people that have had way tougher life situations than me.

Each of those things, I survived. They all made me stronger.

Like I was telling my daughter the other day, a quote from David Goggins, “ if you want to get better, do the shit that no one else wants to do and think that you can’t do.”

When you do something that you didn’t think you could do, you prove to yourself that you can. And that is the most important thing. Prove to yourself that you can do something that you didn’t think that you could and save that in your memory banks. Then, when something else comes up that you think you can’t handle, call on that memory.

I don't know what I'm talking about, but if you think about it you really don't either. I write about lessons learned through my life. dougheron@outlook.com
