There are great forces trying to pull us apart from all directions.

The media. The politicians. The Chinese and the Russians. They all want to controls us.

None of those forces though, is more powerful than our own lesser self, that we all have in our own minds.

The way to defeat the lesser self comes from a simple premise of never breaking the chain.

Jerry Seinfeld, we’ve all heard of him. Whether you think he is funny or not doesn’t matter. He is one of the most successful comedians ever.

back in his touring days, a young comic, Brad Issac, asked him for advice on becoming a better comic.

Jerry’s reply was pretty simple, and we can all use it.

I’m paraphrasing but he said, if you want to be a better comic, tell better jokes. The way to tell better jokes was to write jokes every day.

Jerry said to take a big calendar and hang it on your wall. Every day write a joke. After you write the joke, put a red X through that day. After you have a few days, the red X’s start to form a chain.

You job becomes to NEVER BREAK THE CHAIN!

The chain is momentum. The chain is a habit. The chain is your personal addiction. (addiction can be either positive or negative)
